The Henderson County Lady Colonels (1-1) struggled to find offensive rhythm Saturday afternoon, falling 42-35 to North Bullitt (2-1) at Breckinridge County’s Tip Off Classic.
Henderson started strong, leading 12-7 after one quarter, but trailed 18-17 at halftime and 26-25 after three in what remained a tight, defensive game throughout. North Bullitt closed with a late run to secure the win.
Both teams forced turnovers—21 each—but Henderson’s cold shooting proved costly. The Lady Colonels were just 1-for-12 from three-point range, while the Lady Eagles went 2-for-11. Henderson finished 8-of-13 at the line; North Bullitt countered with a strong 12-of-16 performance. The Lady Colonels held a slight edge on the glass, 35-33.
Sophomore Callie Burnett led Henderson County with 11 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks. Senior A’Tylia Green added eight points and four boards, while senior guard Addy Gish posted seven points and six rebounds. Maggee Melvin contributed five points and three rebounds off the bench. Nevaeh Dixon recorded two points, six rebounds, and three blocks, and Jersey Gardner had two points and three boards.
Henderson County returns home Monday night to host Evansville Memorial at 7 p.m.
