Planned water outage scheduled for Corydon

Henderson County Water District will interrupt water service for many customers in the Corydon area on Thursday.

The planned water outage for Corydon area customers will begin at 8 a.m. Thursday and last about six to eight hours. District Superintendent said the planned outage is necessary to install a fire hydrant and gate valves to improve system reliability and fire protection.

The following customers will be affected by the scheduled outage:

  • 530 – 650 Wilson Lane
  • 420 – 424 5th Street
  • 505 – 644 7th Street

Julian said crews will work as efficiently as possible to complete the project and to minimize the amount of time water service is interrupted.

When water service is restored, all customers affected by this outage will be under a boil water advisory until further notice.

During the boil water advisory, customers should bring water used for drinking, food preparation, brushing teeth, or washing dishes to a rolling boil for at least one minute, then allow it to cool before use, or use bottled water.

Once satisfactory bacteriological sample results are obtained and confirmed, the boil water advisory will be lifted and a follow‑up notice will be issued.

Henderson County Water District said it appreciates customers’ patience and cooperation while this important work is completed and encourages customers to make arrangements in advance of the outage if possible.
