Henderson County picked up an emphatic district road win Friday night in Dixon, crushing Webster County 56-13.
The Lady Colonels jumped out to an 18-2 lead after the first quarter and carried a commanding 36-7 advantage into halftime, allowing just one made basket by the Lady Trojans in the opening half. Henderson continued to pour it on in the third quarter, leading 46-8 and triggering the 35-point mercy-rule running clock midway through the period.
The lopsided score allowed three Lady Colonels—Pacey Parker, Saylor Brown, and Estelle Erbst—to make their varsity debuts.
Henderson forced 25 Webster turnovers while committing just eight of its own and won the rebounding battle 32-26. The Lady Colonels went 6-of-13 at the free-throw line and 4-of-12 from three-point range. Webster finished 8-of-14 at the stripe and 1-of-8 from beyond the arc.
A’Tylia Green led all scorers with 18 points. JaNyla Locher and Nevaeh Dixon each added nine, while Parker scored five in her varsity debut. Addy Gish chipped in four points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds. Callie Burnett also scored four, Maggee Melvin, Kenley Evans, and Peyton London each had two, and Brown rounded out the scoring with one.
Henderson improves to 9-6 on the season and returns home Saturday afternoon to host Bowling Green at 3 p.m.
