Thomas Edgar Duncan, Sr., age 79, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Deaconess Henderson Hospital.
Thomas served in the United States Army Reserve in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum in 2000 after having worked for 32 years. Thomas had a stroke on the golf course while vacationing in Scottsdale, AZ, yet still enjoyed his retirement years golfing, cheering on his adored UK Wildcats, and maintaining his yard with love.
Thomas was preceded in death by his infant son, his daughter Rita Duncan, parents Bowman and Viola Duncan, sister Betty Hagan, and brothers Phil Duncan and Truman Duncan.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary (Rudy) Blanford Duncan of Henderson, KY; daughter Jackie Durban (Steve) of Morganfield, KY; son Thomas Duncan, Jr. (Tara) of Morganfield, KY; 4 grandchildren: Tyler Durban, Tiffany Willett (Dustin), Olivia Goben (Nate) and Trey Duncan; 4 great grandchildren: Liam Willett, Lynex Willett, Shayne Goben and Thatcher Goben.
Relatives and friends are invited to Thomas’ Life Celebration from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday and again from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the funeral home with Father Richard Meredith officiating. Burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery in Henderson, KY.
