Eldora “Dody” Skipworth, age 83, of Robards, KY, passed away on April 15, 2026, at Redbanks Colonial Terrace in Sebree, KY.
Dody was a strong Christian woman who raised her two sons by herself. She loved her church, Robards Missionary Baptist, and enjoyed a longtime active membership there. Dody was a talented artist and loved to paint. She was an excellent cook and a loving mother. She was Elvis’ biggest fan.
Dody was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Katherine Whitaker, her husband Russell Lee Skipworth, and her sister Patricia Thom
She is survived by her sons Jonathan Skipworth of Robards, KY and Brandon Skipworth of Robards, KY; sisters Geri Stinson of Cairo, KY and Barbara Womack of Zion, KY; brother Gary Whitaker of Dawson Springs, KY; as well as six grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to Dody’s Life Celebration from 1:00 p.m. until the service time on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Reverend Eric Fannin officiating. Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at Lewisburg Cemetery in Lewisburg, KY.
