Bobby Joe Haire, age 81, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN.
Bobby Joe was born and raised in Bluff City to Claude and Lillian Haire. He was a good, kind, soft spoken man. He was an avid UK fan and enjoyed the Chicago Bears. Bobby Joe was a proud United States Army and served in the late 60’s during the Vietnam Era, earning rank as Sergeant. He actively maintained his property in Hebbardsville and loved going to the barn where he and his friends would gather. For many decades, he tended to the Presbyterian Cemetery in Hebbardsville. More than anything, Bobby Joe loved being a Papaw. His grandchildren meant the world to him.
In addition to his parents, Bobby Joe was preceded in death by his brothers: Billy Haire, Don Haire, Adrian “Butch” Haire, and Reverend Robert E. Haire, as well as his nephew Ricky Haire.
Bobby Joe is survived by his wife of 35 years Diane Pitt Haire of Henderson, KY; son Jeffrey Lynn Haire (Jenny) of Evansville, IN; grandchildren: Cameron Haire (Ashley), Lauren Haire, Matthew Parker (Hannah), Abby Parker, Addison Haire, and Annie Haire; great-grandchildren: Gabby, Rayleigh, Arielle, and Kylan; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Legion Worsham Post #40, 1709 Madison St., Henderson, KY, 42420 and the Diabetes Coalition, 3700 Bellemeade Ave, Evansville, IN, 47714.
