Hopkinsville, KY – May 18th, 2026 – The Book & Bottle Shop is set to host an afternoon celebrating local authors on Saturday, May 23rd, from 12-4 PM. Readers and local enthusiasts are encouraged to attend and shop from the friends, neighbors, and colleagues of our community who have accomplished the momentous task of publishing a book.
Twelve current or former residents of Hopkinsville and the surrounding areas will be in attendance at the Local Author Round Up on Saturday, all from different backgrounds, in multiple genres, and from all types of publishing.
Each author will have their own space to display their work, where attendees can stop by and chat. They will speak individually about their book, and about the story behind the writing of it, and shoppers can purchase signed copies directly. Each author will also have dedicated time to take the stage and read an excerpt from their work starting at 1:00 PM. Later in the day at 3:00 PM, a panel discussion with select authors will be held to explore what it takes to accomplish the dream that many of us have: putting pen to paper and writing something worth reading.
“We are beyond excited to bring local authors face-to-face with new potential readers at our second annual Local Author Round Up,” said Rachel Sanders, the owner of The Book & Bottle Shop. “Marketing a book is especially difficult for local and indie authors often without the big budgets of best sellers typically seen in stores. Gathering an audience for these authors requires a lot of individual interactions and direct sales. We hope this event helps connect more readers with the talented authors in our area.”
The Book & Bottle Shop combines a love of books with a curated wine bar, creating a unique space for readers, wine lovers, and anyone looking for a cozy spot to relax.
