Evansville man arrested for dealing marijuana following traffic stop


Indiana authorities have arrested an Evansville man after discovering more than 25 pounds of suspected marijuana on him during a traffic stop.

Evansville Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force detectives  conducted a traffic stop on I-69 on Tuesday. The driver, and sole occupant, 32-year-old Jordan W. Rushing of Evansville, had more than 25 pounds of suspected marijuana in his possession.

After obtaining a search warrant for Rushing’s residence, detective seized more than 10 pounds of suspected marijuana, two handguns and a large amount of U.S. currency.

Multiple dogs were also removed from Rushing’s residence. Animal Control had multiple previous complaints but were unable to make contact with any of the residents.

Rushing faces preliminary charges of Driving While Suspended-Prior and Dealing Marijuana Greater Than 10 Lbs. of Marijuana.
