Authorities have opened a homicide investigation after two Henderson residents were shot in Waverly over the weekend.
Henderson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Ranch Road in Waverly at about 12 a.m. Sunday to investigate a shooting incident.
Deputies found two people who had been shot. One person, described as a 35-year-old male from Henderson County, was deceased and another was transported to the hospital for treatment for his injuries. The latter person was described as a 40-year-old male and Henderson County resident.
Witnesses said that there was a disagreement prior to the shooting. The suspect involved in the shooting fled the scene before deputies arrived.
The suspect(s) have been identified and were later identified and taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
