Steven Beaver

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Steven Earl Beaver on June 10, 2026, in Smithfield, Utah.

Steve was born on February 15, 1949, in Edmond, West Virginia, to the late Lawrence Earl “Pete” Beaver and Helen (Wiseman) Beaver. The youngest of four boys, he grew up in West Virginia and Kentucky. In the summer of 1966, Steve met the love of his life, Marlene, on a blind date. Following two years of long-distance dating, they were married on June 8, 1968, in Madisonville, Kentucky.

Steve was a veteran who volunteered to serve in the Vietnam War for two years starting in 1970. Upon his return, he and his father worked diligently to establish their hydraulic rebuild business, Lebco, in February 1972. Steve also contributed to the construction of the camera fitted onto the Hubble telescope.

While living in Madisonville, he obtained his private pilot’s license, which remained one of his proudest achievements. Steve and Marlene shared a love for travel, exploring the world together with trips to Hawaii, Ireland, the Bahamas, and Fiji. In his 40s, Steve earned a theology degree from Liberty University; his devotion to the Lord and his desire to help others remained a cornerstone of his life. Those who knew him will remember his boundless generosity and his willingness to help anyone in need. In his later years, he founded Applied Industrial & Mining, where he worked alongside his son, Craig. In retirement, Steve could often be found in “his building” outback, tending to his tools.

Steve is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marlene (Shelton) Beaver; his daughter, Chrystal (Shannon) Long (known to Steve as “Bop”); his son, Craig (Trish) Beaver (known to Steve as “Craigy”); grandchildren Jordan, Kaelynn, David, Zoe, Declan, and Quinn; and great-grandchildren Savannah, Silas, Myles, Adalynn, and Rowan. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Beaver, and was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary and Nick Beaver.

Relatives and friends are invited to Steve’s Life Celebration at 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday June 18, 2026, and again on Friday at 9:30 until service at 11:00 A.M at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. Services will be held at the funeral home in Henderson, KY, on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 11:00 A.M., with the Reverend Dale Beaver presiding. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, Kentucky. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40

We love you, Dad. We could not have been more blessed, and we thank you for your unconditional love, dedication, hard work, and the example you set for us. We will miss you forever, but we take comfort in knowing you are finally whole and home. Until we see you again, we send you all our love.
