June 17, 2026 – Hopkinsville, KY – The City of Hopkinsville is accepting applications to fill the Ward 5 vacancy on Hopkinsville City Council. The appointment will fill the remainder of the current term, which expires December 31, 2026.
In accordance with the city’s established council vacancy procedures, interested residents of Ward 5 are encouraged to apply for consideration. Applicants must reside within the boundaries of Ward 5, be at least 18 years of age, be a qualified voter in the City of Hopkinsville, and meet all qualifications prescribed by Kentucky law for the office.
Individuals interested in serving on City Council should complete the application packet available at http://hopkinsvilleky.us/vacancy. In addition to the application, applicants must submit:
- A resume outlining community involvement
- A letter explaining why they wish to serve on Hopkinsville City Council
- ·A completed Financial Interests Statement in accordance with the city’s Code of Ethics
Applications and supporting documents must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office no later than 4:30 p.m. local time on Friday, June 26, 2026.
