Evansville Police have arrested a man accused of making threats against an officer on social media.
On May 21, 2026, Evansville Police Department was made aware of what officials called concerning social media posts made by 22-year-old Dredon E. Nunn.
Nunn is the son of Everett Nunn, who was killed by an Evansville Police Department officer in November. An officer shot Nunn multiple times after they saw Nunn carrying what turned out to be a fake gun, according to WEHT.
His death led to protests and calls for more transparency. A criminal review found that the officer who shot the elder Nunn acted according to department policy and no charges were filed by a prosecutor.
Police said the social media posts made by Dredon E. Nunn referenced getting justice through “bloodshed” and threatening death toward an Evansville Police Officer.
After obtaining a warrant, police confirmed the posts were authentic and produced by a Facebook account belonging to Nunn.
Nunn was arrested on Thursday on a preliminary charge of intimidation.
