Marion, Kentucky will host what is expected to be the largest community celebration in the last 50 years this weekend.
Legacy of Liberty is a community-wide celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. The event is designed to connect people with the history that shaped our nation, and the event invites residents and visitors alike to experience and reflect on America’s story in a meaningful, accessible way.
There will be a number of revolutionary war and pioneer encampments and living-history presentations.
The community of Tolu, KY will have an hour-long fireworks display at dark the evening of July 4th. This small community with a population of about 80 swells to almost 4,000 for a fireworks event that started with a few neighbors chipping in $50 each to shoot some fireworks.
It has now become a grand tradition with a fireworks display that rivals many large cities, officials said.
