HMP&L and its subcontractor will be finishing up new pole replacements at the intersection of Sand Lane and South Green Street this week.
They will also be preparing for the project’s reconductoring phase – weather permitting.
The next major and final work phase will begin next week. This will be the reconductoring phase – replacing all the old power transmission lines with new higher capacity and performance rated transmission lines.
Motorists should be extra cautious when driving through this work zone and obey traffic control flagmen.
The projects total work area will run 1.3 miles from HMP&L’s substation just east of the Borax Dr./US 41A-60 intersection and head north on South Green St. (US60) to the intersection with Sand Lane.
From that intersection the project continues east a distance of 1 mile on Sand Lane ending at the substation just west of the Atkinson St. intersection.
Work will be done from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
