The Evansville Police Department has three new school resource officers.
“The School Resource Officer Unit, in cooperation with the Evansville[1]Vanderburgh School Corporation, and the Catholic Diocese of Evansville, provides assistance to students in the areas of safety, law enforcement, and good citizenship,” said Juvenile Sgt. Jacklyn Holden. “The officers assigned to this unit provide school safety and security, investigate crimes committed by students and provide students with a proper role model for good citizenship, counseling when requested on personal and family problems, and information on a wide range of subjects.”
Officer Wayne Hunt recently retired from EPD after serving more than 27 years. Officer Hunt will be assigned to Holy Rosary School.
Officer Chad Diedrich recently retired from EPD after serving 20.5 years. Officer Diedrich will be assigned to St. Benedict’s School.
Officer Jackie Juncker was recently employed by the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office where she served 11 years. Officer Juncker will be assigned to Good Shepherd School.
