Evansville Police arrested a man accused of stabbing someone during an argument.
Officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Old Business 41 on Tuesday to a report about a person who had been stabbed.
Officers located a male victim who had been stabbed in the torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital where it was later discovered he had a collapsed lung.
Witnesses on scene told investigators that the victim had been involved in an argument with Joshua J. Pilachowski, 35, inside another person’s room. The victim left the room and was soon confronted by Pilachowski in another room.
The victim was reportedly punched in the face and he and Pilachowski began to fight. During the altercation, Pilachowski stabbed the victim once in the torso.
Pilachowski reportedly admitted to another person that he stabbed the victim. The knife Pilachowski used was located nearby after surveillance footage showed where he discarded it.
Pilachowski was taken into custody on Wednesday and preliminarily charged with Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Invasion of Privacy. The Invasion of Privacy charge was unrelated to the altercation with the victim.
