A Henderson man is accused of strangling a woman at the Holiday Motel in Henderson.
Henderson police officers responded to the Holiday Motel on 11:40 a.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of an active domestic disturbance involving a man assaulting a woman in the parking lot.
Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive woman and a disoriented motel staff member who had been punched in the face while attempting to intervene.
Officers immediately took the suspect, identified as Eric Easley, 43, into custody and rendered emergency medical aid to the victim until EMS and Fire personnel arrived on scene.
The female victim was transported to a local hospital for her injuries and is currently at the hospital for her treatment.
Witness statements and initial investigation revealed Easley had dragged the victim from the room into the parking lot and strangled her. During questioning with officers, Easley admitted to attempting to kill the victim.
Easley was arrested and lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center.
Easley has been charged with attempted murder, fourth-degree assault, and first degree strangulation.
