Twin Bridges Inspection Moving Forward

HENDERSON, Ky. (Aug. 14, 2026) The mandatory annual inspection of the U.S. 41 Twin Bridges in Henderson continues to progress, with crews transitioning from the northbound bridge to the southbound bridge today. The transition is expected to be completed by Sunday, with the northbound bridge being fully reopened.

Work is expected to continue through Friday, Aug. 21, with crews working daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Motorists should anticipate delays on both bridges as crews move equipment into position to complete the inspection of the southbound bridge. During the lane restrictions, crews will also remove trash and debris from the bridge, clear bridge drains and patch potholes.

On Friday, Aug. 21, lane restrictions will extend farther north as crews replace a damaged sign near the weigh station at the Kentucky-Indiana state line. That closure is expected to extend from approximately mile point 17.2 to mile point 17.6 in Indiana.

All lanes are expected to reopen by 3 p.m. Friday.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the work zone, allow additional time for their commute and watch for changing traffic patterns and crews working on the bridges.
