EVASNVILLE – Aug. 24, 2026 – The Indiana Hunger Summit will return for a second year on September 2, 2026, with a new statewide format connecting hundreds of leaders tackling food access across three regional hubs in Ft. Wayne, Indianapolis, and Evansville.
More than 250 people participated in the inaugural summit in Indianapolis in 2025; this year’s event expands participation and deepens collaboration across Indiana’s food system, according to a news release.
The agenda includes discussions on the economic and societal impact of hunger on health and student success, and the role of faith communities and cross-sector community partnerships. Participants will engage in a Showcase Fair, regional discussion groups, a statewide pitch competition, and collaborative action planning.
The University of Southern Indiana will be the host site for the Evansville location this year and welcomes participation from interested individuals including leaders and organizations representing agriculture, food systems and logistics, healthcare, education, faith communities, philanthropy, government business and front-line non-profit organizations serving Indiana communities.
The 2026 Indiana Hunger Summit Evansville Hub will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2 at Carter Hall on the University of Southern Indiana’s campus.
