Evansville, Ind. (Sept. 16, 2026) – Overnight lane restrictions are planned Thursday and Friday on northbound I-69.
Northbound I-69 will be reduced to one lane from east of U.S. 41 to Green River Road from 8 p.m. Thursday until 4 a.m. Friday.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down, stay alert, and follow reduced speed limits in the area. Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen activities occur.
Crews are touching up striping and moving barrier wall as they near project completion. Work on some of the approach roadways and bridges in Evansville (ORX Section 3) is expected to be substantially complete later this month.
The roads and bridges being built now will provide all-weather construction access to build the new I-69 bridge. That contract for ORX Section 2 is expected to be awarded late this year with construction expected to start in spring 2027 and be complete in 2031.
