HENDERSON, KY — Dust off your dancing shoes, warm up those lip-syncing skills, and prepare for a night of music, memories, and some very questionable choreography. One of Henderson’s most entertaining community traditions is officially making its comeback.
United Way of Henderson County is bringing back Now That’s What I Call Pantomime: Pop Icons, presented by Pittsburg Tank & Tower Group, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Preston Fine Arts Center.
Think lip-sync battle meets variety show, with a little red-carpet glamour and a whole lot of Henderson personality. Local business leaders, community members, elected officials, and familiar faces trade their everyday roles for wigs, sequins, costumes, and the chance to become some of music’s biggest icons.
A Little Pantomime History
Pantomime first took the stage in November 2001, but the show almost didn’t happen.
Just days after the tragedy of September 11, the United Way team was preparing for their first icebreaker and considered canceling the event. But the performers and community encouraged them to continue, believing a little laughter and togetherness were exactly what people needed.
That first show sparked a Henderson tradition that would return eight more times, for a total of nine unforgettable performances. With a huge thanks to M’Lea Peak, Ylonda Nall, and Phyllis Crafton for making it all happen.
Now, 25 years after that first show, we’re bringing the magic (and the questionable choreography) back.
This year’s show brings together Pantomime Originals and first-time performers portraying music legends and pop favorites, including Elvis, Prince, Dolly Parton, Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Britney Spears, and more!
Expect big personalities, bigger costumes, a few surprises, and plenty of moments Henderson will be talking about long after the curtain closes.
Behind all the laughter is a purpose worth celebrating. Every ticket supports United Way of Henderson County and its mission to invest, connect, and empower our community through proven programs focused on Health, Education, Financial Stability, and Workforce Development.
