Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest For Damaging Numerous Flock Cameras

A traffic stop led to the arrest of an Evansville man accused of damaging flock cameras in Evansville.

An Evansville Police officer saw an electric scooter traveling south on Governor Street near Columbia Street without a headlight on Monday. The operator, Charles A. Hughes, 18, also ignored a traffic signal at the intersection of Governor and Virginia Streets.

After being stopped, police said Hughes was found with a collapsible ladder and solar panel with a Flock logo in plain view. He also had a backpack and duffel bag that had dozens of tools and numerous Flock camera components.

Investigators were able to match some of the components Hughes had with recently damaged Flock cameras.

Hughes was arrested and preliminarily charged with theft, criminal  mischief and disregarding a traffic signal.

During the execution of a search warrant on Hughes’ residence, police seized components for more than thirty Flock camera systems.
